Chocolate sweetens Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk

SEQUIM — “A Sweet Evening of Chocolate,” in tune with the First Friday Art Walk color theme of brown, will be offered at Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasures tonight.

The business at 121 W. Washington St. will offer local flavors from WeDo Fudge, Yvonne’s Chocolates, Seattle Chocolates, Harvey’s Hot Butter Rum Popcorn & Hot Chocolate, Sugar Hill Farms Caramels, Chukar Cherries and others.

Visitors can test chocolates and other sweets to consider gifts from Sequim and Washington state, said Renne Emiko Brock, organizer of the art walk.

Brock has given each monthly art walk — always from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the first Friday of the month — a color theme.

This month’s theme is brown, “the color of fall harvest and abundance, turning of the leaves, sweet chocolate and seasonal spicy treats,” she said.

“Find works of art and folks supporting the option to dress in shades of bountiful brown or representations of hearth and harvest as they enjoy an evening on the town with down-to-earth friends and family.”
