Death Notices

Death Notices are available through the News Department for North Olympic Peninsula residents when the information is provided (see Death Notice form on Legacy/obituary page, towards the bottom). There are no photos or insignias with death notices.

As a public service, death notices are provided free of charge for a one-time publication. For additional information, call 360-452-2345 ext. 03150 or email news@peninsuladailynews.com

Obituaries

Survivors who want to write their loved one’s obituary are encouraged to do so and email them to obits@peninsuladailynews.com. Photos are welcome; please email in a separate file from the text. You may also download the Obituary Guidance Sheet and after filling it out, email to us and we will write a narrative for you. Nothing gets published without your written approval. Please include your contact information along with your submission.

Once a proof has been done, we will email it to you for approval and let you know the cost. Obituaries are charged at the rate of $11.50 per column inch for the PDN. The Sequim Gazette ($10.25) and Forks Forum ($8) have different rates.

Please keep in mind that we are always working in the future at the paper. Generally, there is a two-business day deadline ending at 5:00 PM daily, space permitting. Nothing gets printed without written approval and payment. We do take credit cards over the phone.

Photos must be in this format:

  • 300 dpi
  • At least 4 inches x 4 inches
  • Don’t adjust color/contrast
  • JPEG Format, high quality (low compression)

For questions or concerns, please call 360-452-8435 or email obits@peninsuladailynews.com.

All notices are subject to approval by Peninsula Daily News before publication. We reserve the right to edit, revise, reject or cancel a notice at any time.

Your notice must be confirmed by a Peninsula Daily News representative before publication. It may take up to 24 hours to process your request. Please allow additional time if place your notice on Friday, during the weekend, or on a holiday – if you place a notice during these times we will not be able to process your request until the next regular business day.
