About Us

Since 1916, the Peninsula Daily News has been a part of Port Angeles, Port Townsend, and the communities freckled between the Pacific Ocean, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Olympic National Park and mountain range.

The Olympic National Park is just shy of a million acres and encompasses three distinct ecosystems. It offers exploration for every level of outdoor enthusiast. Discover magical waterfalls under moss gardens of old-growth trees. Explore the jaw-dropping colors of current-swept seamounts and kelp forests. Jump on a ferry for a day trip to beautiful Victoria, BC. From fishing, hiking, kayaking, biking, camping, scuba diving, birding, or just plain road-tripping, the Olympic Peninsula awaits.

In 2011, Sound Publishing purchased the Peninsula Daily News, Sequim Gazette, and Forks Forum news outlets to complement the coverage of its Great Peninsula newspapers.

Sound Publishing, Inc. remains committed to the community, with news outlets in Washington and Alaska. Our parent company, Black Press, and Sound Publishing believe that independent, fact-based reporting and holding those in power accountable are essential to healthy communities and a healthy democracy.
