SPORTS: Exciting last-second touchdown pass pushes Sequim past Eatonville in 2A football playoffs

POULSBO — Tyler Forshaw caught a 26-yard pass from Jack Wiker with 11 seconds left to spark the Sequim Wolves into the state Class 2A playoffs for the sixth straight year Saturday night.

The Wolves (9-1) escaped with a 40-34 victory over Eatonville (4-6) to advance to a state playoff showdown with W.F. West of Chehalis this coming weekend.

Sequim had to go 80 yards for the winning touchdown with 2:06 left to play after the teams tied 34-all at North Kitsap High School.

Wiker threw four touchdown passes in the game, including an 80-yarder to Christian Miles.

The junior quarterback also ran in a touchdown from 8 yards out and accounted for five of the six scores.

Forshaw scored the other one on an 87-yard punt return.

Eatonville led 7-0 after one period but trailed 20-14 at halftime.

The Wolves increased the lead to 33-21 after three quarters of play but Eatonville outscored Sequim 13-0 in the final period before the Wolves scored the final touchdown.
