QUILCENE — Quilcene closed out the volleyball regular season with a three-set sweep of the Northwest Yeshiva 613s.
The win was the Rangers’ seventh straight, with all but six of those coming in three sets.
Quilcene (10-1, 13-2) finishes second in the SeaTac League behind only Christian Faith (10-0, 10-2).
Tuesday was senior and the Rangers honored their lone senior, Sammy Rae.
And Rae turned in a great performance, serving 15 aces and hitting 18 kills.
“She had an outstanding game, serving 15 aces and hitting 18 kills,” Quilcene coach Joni Crowell said.
Megan Weller added another nine kills for Quilcene.
“We are coming together as a team and focusing on covering skills and defense,” Crowell said.
The Rangers are ranked sixth in Class 1B in the Washington State Coaches Poll, while Christian Faith is No. 3.
Quilcene will open the league tournament at home next Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s match between the seventh-place and 10th-place teams.
If the Rangers win, they advance to the tournament semifinals at Evergreen Lutheran High School in Des Moines.
Five SeaTac League teams advance to the Tri-District tournament, which will be held at Crescent School on Nov. 8.
Neah Bay 3, Clallam Bay 0
CLALLAM BAY — The Red Devils swept away the Bruins 27-25, 25-23, 25-23.
“This clinches the [North Olympic] League title for us,” Neah Bay coach Rebekah Monette said following Tuesday’s match.
A strong serving game propelled Neah Bay to the win.
Vonte Aguirre was a perfect 18 of 18 on serve, with four aces and three kills.
Junior setter Vivica Wachendorf also was perfect from the service line, going 12 of 12 with two aces and three assists.
Holly Greene was 11 of 12 on serve with four aces, a kill and a tip for a point.
The Red Devils visit Wishkah today and wrap league play by hosting Crescent on Tuesday.
Olympic 3, Port Angeles 2
BREMERTON — The Roughriders fell in five sets on the road to the Trojans 12-25, 25-16, 14-25, 25-17, 11-15.
“The girls played very well in the games we won,” Port Angeles coach Christine Halberg said after Tuesday’s loss.
“We earned our points, especially in game two in which Oly had very few unforced errors.
“We were hitting hard, serving tough and controlling the ball well. The girls had a lot of energy at times, which was really fun to see.”
Nizhoni Wheeler led the Riders with six blocks, three kills and two aces.
Kiana Robideau tallied four kills and two aces, Genna Orr had three kills and three blocks and Emily Johnson had four kills.
Elizabeth DeFrang had three aces, Dawn Oliver recorded two aces and Makiah Sperry finished with two aces and a block.

Olympic 2, Port Angeles 0
BREMERTON — Needing a win to clinch a berth in the postseason, the Riders came up short in a 2-0 loss to the Trojans.
Port Angeles (5-5, 7-6) coach Scott Moseley saw a dramatic improvement from the first meeting between the teams, a 4-0 loss at Civic Field.
“We played with heart and grit throughout the game but were hurt by simple mistakes,” Moseley said.
The Riders nearly took the early lead when Maddie Boe’s 30-yard free kick deflected down off the crossbar to miss being a goal by mere inches.
Olympic took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute as the Trojans scored off a rebound from a blocked shot.
The game then stabilized into a battle for control of the midfield.
Port Angeles had shots on goal by Boe, Sierra Robinson and Emma Moseley but were unable to get on the scoreboard. “We moved to a more offensive lineup and were able to get some shots. It left us exposed, though, and that led to Olympic’s second goal,” Moseley said.
Moseley named Cami Raber as the defensive player of the game for her “tireless work winning the ball and starting the Rider counter attack.”
Port Angeles hosts Kingston for senior night tonight at 6:45 p.m. at Civic Field.

CHIMACUM — Holly Snider scored the Cowboys’ goal in the 50th minute of Tuesday’s game against the Olympic League 1A-leading Eagles (3-0, 11-1).
Chimacum (1-2, 2-9) hosts Coupeville today.

POULSBO — The start of Olympic League boys tennis tournament, which was scheduled to begin Wednesday, has been delayed due to inclement weather.
The tournament will begin this morning if weather cooperates.
