NORTH OLYMPIC PENINSULA PREP FOOTBALL: Forks beats Hoquiam, but Spartans eliminated from playoffs; other area results

FORKS — Dimitri Sampson’ 5-yard run with 8:34 left in the game was the only touchdown Forks needed to beat Evergreen League foe Hoquiam 10-7 on Friday.

Unfortunately for the Spartans, Montesano surprised Elma with a 42-14 win that gives the Bulldogs the Evergreen League’s final playoff spot and leaves Forks one game short.

Elsewhere on the North Olympic Peninsula, top-ranked Neah Bay rolled over Clallam Bay 76-14.

In Olympic League action, Sequim lost to North Mason 69-36 and Port Angeles fell to Kingston 42-14.
