BELLINGHAM — Gymnasts from Port Angeles, Sequim and Crescent combined to finish third at the Sehome Gymnastics Invitational this weekend.

Competing at the event were high school teams from Bellingham, Sehome, Squalicum and Ballard.

“Our team did well considering we are a team made up of over half freshmen, some with little to no gymnastics experience,” said coach Jackie Mangano.

Ballard came in first with 172.2 points, Sehome second at 169.15, Port Angeles/Sequim/Crescent third at 149.95 and Squalicum fourth at 126.85.

Placing at the meet were Port Angeles’ Aiesha LaTourette and Ann Edwards, who both finished eighth in the floor exercise with identical scores of 8.9. Emma Sharp of Sequim finished 10th in the vault with an 8.0.

The team’s next meet is Saturday in Auburn for the WOWI meet, an invitational divided into different levels of competition for each event.
