AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: City crowns softball champs; youth football registration in Port Angeles and Chimacum

Future Riders football registration

PORT ANGELES — An in-person registration event for Port Angeles’ Future Riders Youth Football program will be held Tuesday.

The sign-up event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Vern Burton Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

Registration is open to players in grades one through six.

Cost is $100.

Players will need a copy of school documentation like an immunization record or registration to prove their grade level.

Registration forms are available at www.paathletics.com/pafutureriders.

Practices will begin in mid-August.

Chimacum Youth football

CHIMACUM — The Chimacum Youth Football League will collect registration forms and fit players for gear at two events at HJ Carroll Park, 9884 Rhody Drive, in August.

The events will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.

League officials will need a completed packet of forms, tutition and $100 refundable gear deposit.

Athletes will be fitted for: helmet and chin strap, mouth guard, shoulder pads, rib protector, practice pants and jersey and game pants.
