ALL-OLYMPIC LEAGUE SOCCER: PA’s Rognlien, Sheahan; Sequim’s Brewer, Grove make first team

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles and Sequim soccer teams got a pair of goalkeepers on the all-Olympic League first team, with Roughriders’ defender Ava-Anne Sheahan and the Wolves’ midfielder Raimey Brewer joining them.

Making first team were the Riders’ Kennedy Rognlien and the Wolves’ Kalli Grove. With Rognlien in goal, Port Angeles allowed just 21 goals in league this year while Sequim allowed just 18 with Grove anchoring the Wolves’ defense.

Sheahan, who played center-back and midfield, was not only a defensive stalwart, but a big part of the Riders’ offense, scoring a hat trick in one half in a game against Bremerton this season.

Sheahan and Rognlien are also big stars for the Riders’ softball team.

Making the second team was Port Angeles midfielder Teanna Clark and forward Kedryn DeScala.

The four Riders named to first and second teams helped lead a fairly young team to a 9-9 record and postseason berth.

Sequim’s Ivy Barrett and Riley Winter also made the second team. The quartet of Sequim players named helped lead the Wolves to a postseason appearance, as well.

Winning league sportsmanship awards were Port Angeles’ Becca Manson and Sequim’s Olive Bridge.

The Olympic League MVP was Bainbridge’s Laine Romney. Bainbridge went 14-0-0 to win the league championship.
