Dandelion Botanical Co. to host art show opening Saturday

SEQUIM — An art show featuring Lauren Blair Churchill will open at Dandelion Botanical Co. in Sequim this weekend.

The show will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way.

Churchill’s work will be viewable through the end of March.

Dandelion is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.

Churchill said she is a lifelong artist with experience in a variety of 2D mediums, including all forms of painting, drawing and some printmaking.

“Art is a way of life for me and the act of creating is my spiritual practice,” Churchill said. “I am continually exploring ways to increase my proficiency in painting, particularly with oils.

“I take inspiration from the world around me, especially nature. I am also continually inspired by the creative efforts of my fellow artists and am excited to be living in such a beautiful place as the Olympic Peninsula.”

Churchill attended the University of Michigan in the 1970s and finished a visual arts degree at Eastern Connecticut State University in 1989, according to a press release. Her work includes illustrated field guides, a self-published coloring book and has been selected for the cover of magazines.
