Clinic for new soccer referees to be offered

PORT ANGELES — A new referee clinic for potential soccer referees will be offered in July. The clinic consists of an online portion and two on-field clinics. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the field sessions.

The field sessions will be held at Wally Sigmar Field at Peninsula College from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 23-24.

There is a $15 clinic fee.

The clinic is not limited to youth. Adults are encouraged to become referees.

Sequim sign-ups

SEQUIM — Registration is underway for Sequim Junior Soccer’s upcoming fall season at sequimjuniorsoccer.com.

Youth born from 2005 through 2016 are eligible to play. Players will be divided into age-appropriate Little Kickers, U6, U8, U10, U12 and U15 teams.

The cost is $36 for Little Kickers (six games) and $56 for U5 and up.

Games will be held Saturday mornings from Sept. 7 through Oct. 12 for the youngest players, Oct. 26 for U6 and Nov. 9 for U8 and older.

Practices will start in August, about two weeks before the opening games.

Limited scholarships are available.

Registration is open through Aug. 2, but if an age category fills up before that day registration will close early.

PA Youth Soccer

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Youth Soccer is registering players for the fall soccer season at www.paysc.com.

Players must have been born between 2005 and 2015.

Those born in 2005 must be middle school students.

The cost is $55 per player.

U5 through U7 players will practice in an academy-style format on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16-Oct. 17 at Peninsula College. There will be no Saturday events for these ages.

U8 through U15 players will begin practices as soon as Aug. 26 with Saturday games running from Sept. 7 through Nov. 9.

JeffCo soccer

PORT TOWNSEND — Early bird registration runs through July 19 for Jefferson County Parks and Recreation’s Fall Youth Soccer program for children in Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

The deadline to sign up for the recreational league is Aug. 3.

Early bird registration is $65, late registration from July 20-Aug. 3 is $70. Registrations received after Aug. 4 are $75 and players will be placed on a waitlist.

A $5 per child discount is available for families with more than one child.

The fee includes a T-shirt, game equipment, field prep and maintenance and referees for games for players in the third grade and up.

Registration is available at countyrec.com (a three-percent fee applies) or via cash or check only in person at the Rec Center, 620 Tyler St., or at Jefferson County Public Works, 623 Sheridan St., both in Port Townsend.

Completed registrations along with a check can also be mailed to Jefferson County Public Works, 623 Sheridan St., Port Townsend, WA 98368.

Practices begin in mid-August. Games are held at H.J. Carroll Park in Chimacum each Sunday from Sept. 8 through Oct. 27.

Each team gets to play one Wednesday night game under the lights at Memorial Field in Port Townsend.
