SPOKANE — The Sequim fifth-grade select basketball team came in second in its division this weekend at the Washington Middle School Basketball Championships.

Sequim’s record this year, including the tournament held March 16-18, was 21-3.

Sequim beat Cashmere 45-19, Liberty 51-48 and Kelso HHC 35-30 to get in the championship game, where they lost to Methow Valley 48-41.

Lincoln Liggins led Sequim in scoring in all the games, with 18 against Cashmere, 29 against Liberty, (including a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer), 27 points against Kelso, and 27 against Methow Valley.
