Kazu Kibuishi

Author, illustrator to present Thursday

CHIMACUM — Jefferson County Library is bringing author and illustrator Kazu Kibuishi to visit area schools this month, and the public is invited to join him for a presentation at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Chimacum High School auditorium, 91 West Valley Road.

Kibuishi also is the editor, art director and cover artist of the “Explorer” and “Flight” comic anthologies, and he was selected to re-illustrate the covers of the Harry Potter 15th anniversary Edition paperbacks from Scholastic Books.

Born in Japan, Kibuishi moved to the U.S. with his family when he was a young child.

He graduated with a degree in film studies and pursued a career in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.

Kibuishi works full-time as a comic book artist and lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two children.
