Crescent boys fall on the road

MULKITEO — The Crescent boys lost to a strong 7-2 Sulamita Christian team on the road 77-35.

KC Spencer and Eric Emery led the Loggers on Monday with seven points apiece. Noah Leonard scored six and Robert Cox and Kylan Sheid each scored five.

“We worked hard, probably the hardest working game since I’ve been here. Can’t fault the guys effort at all,” said coach Chris Ferrier.

“[Sulamita Christian] has some length that really caused problems for our shooting and then they really shoot the ball quite well on their end,” Ferrier said.

The game completes Crescent’s (0-1, 5-6) preseason schedule. From now on, the Loggers play strictly North Olympic B games, beginning at 5 p.m. today with a road game at Chief Kitsap.

Girls Basketball

Forks JV 34, Crescent 27

JOYCE — The Crescent girls played even with the Forks JV except for a rough third quarter in a 34-27 loss.

Monday’s game was tied 17-17 at the half, but the Forks JV outscored Crescent 8-0 in the third.

“A scoreless third quarter was the ultimate demise for us. This was an even matched game and I am proud of the girls for not giving up. We’ve got to attack the hoop more and pull down more rebounds,” said Crescent coach Kelly Serrianne.

Grace Baillargeon led the Loggers with nine points and four steals. Hannah Lee had two points and nine boards, while Raine Westfall had six points.

Serrianne said she moved the Loggers’ tall guard Chloe Conat down low and she responded with 16 rebounds to go with two points.

Elizabeth Jackson-Cruz led the Forks JV with nine points.
