Youth hoop tourney set in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Olympic Lodge Spring Hoopfest Tourney on Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8.

The event includes divisions for boys and girls basketball teams from fifth grade through high school.

There is a four game guarantee and a $250 entry fee.

St. Paddy’s run

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Saint Paddy’s Day Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, March 14.

Beginning at noon at City Pier, the 5- and 10- kilometer run/walk will follow the Waterfront Trail out and back.

There will be shirts for the first 50 pre-registered participants and some prizes for the best wearing of the green.

There’s no need to have Irish ancestry to participate.

The cost is $23 per person for adults, $11 for 18 and younger.
