PREP SPORTS RESULTS: Sequim baseball team handling marathon week just fine, thank you

SEQUIM — Midway through its marathon week, the Sequim baseball team is in good shape.

The Wolves won their second game in a row Tuesday, dropping the Klahowya Eagles 9-3 behind a strong performance from Tyler Campbell on the mound and at the plate.

Campbell went five innings, striking out three and giving up three earned runs and four hits, to earn the win for the Wolves .

He was also 2-for-2 with the bat, driving in three runs to lead a Sequim lineup that scored eight runs in the first four innings.

The third game of a grueling week — Sequim plays five games between Monday and Saturday — the Wolves have won two of three so far to stay near the top of the Olympic League standings.

“Two big wins, after that [4-1] loss to Kingston [on Monday],” Sequim coach Dave Ditlefsen said.

“We’ve been getting good pitching. Guys are going deep in games, so I think we’ll get through this week.”

Those arms will surely be tested today.

Sequim (4-2 in league, 6-2 overall) hosts the powerful Chimacum Cowboys at 4 p.m. in a nonleague affair.
