PORT ANGELES — Dreams are coming true for 13 local baseball players as the 13U Olympic Babe Ruth All-Stars prepare to represent the Pacific Northwest at the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, N.Y., beginning Aug. 16.

After dominating the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament and bringing home the championship trophy, the team has just six more days left to raise the money required to travel across the country and compete on the national stage. The cost of airfare, hotel accommodations, uniforms and tournament expenses is steep, and families are relying on community support to make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible for their players.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched at https://tinyurl.com/NOlympicU13 to help cover the team’s travel and lodging expenses.

The campaign is off to a strong start as the team has raised $21,723, but they need to raise several thousand more by next week to help secure transportation and accommodations for the trip.

Crab and Crabettes

SEQUIM — Alex Atwell and Carter Schick won the overall low gross and Matt and Celice Carlough the overall low net at the annual Crab & Crabette Mixed Chapman tournament at the Cedars at Dungeness.

Atwell and Schick had a two-day score of 139, while the Carloughs had a two-day net of 130.

The 2026 Crab & Crabette will take place on Aug. 7-9.
