Registration open for co-ed volleyball league

PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department is taking registrations for a co-ed volleyball league.

The registration deadline is Friday. The season begins Oct. 15 and runs at the Stevens Middle School gymnasium until Feb. 28, 2019.

The cost is $550 per team. Anyone 18 and older can player and players without a team can call and get on a “free agent” list.

AAU girls’ tryouts

PORT ANGELES — Fifth- through eighth-grade girls are invited to register for AAU basketball on Wednesday.

Open practice and team selections will be held at Roosevelt Elementary School from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for grades five through six and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for grades seventh through eight.

Club fee is $300 for insurance, tournament fees, etc. The player fee is $250 and the refundable uniform deposit is $50.

Port Angeles freshman Elyse Brown qualified for state in the floor, vault and the bars. She placed fourth all-around at district. Joining her will be fellow freshman Emily Bair from Sequim.
