Port Angeles dominated the girls basketball all-Olympic League honors while Sequim’s Big Three were selected to the boys basketball first and second teams.
The Roughriders, the Olympic League runners-up on the girls side, grabbed MVP and coach of the year awards as well as having six named to the list.
League champion Kingston had four receive all-league honors, including two on the first team.
Senior Kiah Jones was voted MVP while Michael Poindexter made coach of the year honors.
Sophomore Krista Johnson made the second team for Port Angeles while receiving honorable mention were seniors Kathryn Moseley and Paxton Rodocker, junior Mariah Frazier and sophomore Maddy Hinrichs.
Port Townsend, the lone 1A team in the mostly 2A league, had two players earning honors, including senior Kiley Maag on the second team and junor Irina Lyons as an honorable mention.
Olympic won the sportsmanship award for girls while players making the first team were Bremerton seniors Jalen and Kourtney Carpenter, Olympic junior Ashli Payne and senior Jalyn Halstead, and Kingston senior Maggie Snaza and junior Amanda Carper.
On the boys side, Sequim senior Corbin Webb was named to the first team while junior teammates Jayson Brocklesby and Gabe Carter made it on the second time.
The three players were nicknamed the Big Three by Port Angeles coach Wes Armstrong because they spearheaded Sequim’s powerful three-prong offensive attack during the season.
Sequim senior Evan Hill was an honorable mention.
Making the first team for Port Angeles was senior Hayden McCartney while receiving honorable mention were seniors Cameron Braithwaite and Keenen Walker.
Port Townsend junior Kyle Kelly, who led the Redskins this year, wan an honorable mention.
The Redskins won the team sportsmanship award while Kingston’s Sam Byers was voted the league MVP.
Others making the first team were Olympic senior Trent Gallagher and junior Quentin Phillips, Kingston junior K.T. Deam and Klahowya senior Clark Rose.
