Little Kid wrestling classes
PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend High School wrestling program’s Little Kids wrestling classes begin today.
The classes are taught by Port Townsend wrestlers and coaches at the Port Townsend High School wrestling gym in back of the main gym.
Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays through Jan. 28 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for kids to learn the sport of wrestling and work on strength, coordination and flexibility,” Port Townsend head wrestling coach Steve Grimm said.
Classes are for ages 4 and up. Family members are welcome to attend.
The cost in $50 per child, or $80 for two children. (Financial assistance is available; if needed, please ask at time of sign-up.)
The last day of class there will be a Finals tournament.
Awards and T-shirts will be awarded to all participants.
Registration is tonight before the first class.

Storm King draw
BOTHELL — Storm King Peninsula Soccer Academy fought to a 0-0 draw against the top-ranked North Shore Impulse in Storm King’s first away game of its 12 game winter season.
Goalie Maddie Wenzl had eight saves and picked up the team’s first shutout.
The defensive backline of Erin Vig, Lisa Radford, Shea Barrett and Mattie Clark stifled the Impulse by winning 50-50 balls.
Gretchen Happe and Heidi Viede combined in the central midfield to string together a sustained counter-attack that kept the Impulse back on their heels by connecting with Chloe Sparks and Abby Hansted for breakaway opportunities.
Forward Sierra Robinson, outside midfielders Sophie Radford, Astrid Martin, Saige Hefton and Laura Nutter pitched in to strengthen the core of the defense while providing pivotal connections for counter-attacks.
Storm King dominated the attack with two close goal attempts.
