Tickets on sale for swim club benefit dinner

PORT ANGELES — Tickets are on sale for a June 15 dinner fundraiser for the Port Angeles Swim Club.

Black Diamond Junction will play music at the event set for Harbinger Winery, 2358 W. U.S. Highway 101, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

The event also will feature dinner, dessert, drinks and a silent auction.

Tickets are $45 and are available by emailing paswimclub@gmail.com.

Irrigation Fest run

SEQUIM — The Irrigation Festival Fun Run, a family friendly 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run/walk will be held May 11.

A 1-mile walk also will be held.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. in the front of the JC Penney parking lot, 651 W. Washington St.

Runners and walkers will follow an out-and-back course that starts near the parking lot and follows Washington Street east to the turnaround point at the Shipley Center of Hammond Street.

The 1-mile walk will turn around at the intersection of Washington Street and Third Ave.

Prizes will be awarded to the first male and female finishers.

Every participant will need to be off the course by 10:55 a.m. in time for the Irrigation Festival Car Parade.

Adult registration is $35, kids ages 15 and under are $20.

Twisters at state

BONNEY LAKE — Twisters Gymnastics Level 7 team recently earned an eighth-place finish at the annual Optional State Championship at Bonney Lake High School.

Alex Schmadeke won the Level 7 all around title for her age group with a score of 37.6. Schmadeke placed first on both the uneven bars and the balance beam with scores of 9.6 and 9.375, respectively.

Lia Poore tied for first place on the beam with a score of 9.125 and tied for second on the floor exercise with a score of 9.475.

Tessa Richardson placed first on the floor exercise with a score of 9.6.

Rell Lennox was in the top ten in three of four events with her best score of 9.225, coming on the bars and the floor.

Luca Campbell came in first place on the uneven bars with a score of 9.6 and tied for second on floor with a score of 9.65.

Aliyah Yearian was in the top ten on three out of four events with her best score of 9.075 in the floor exercise.
