The National Weather Service has issued these advisories for Port Townsend and the Hood Canal areas as well as the West End’s Pacific coast.

SATURDAY. FOR PORT TOWNSEND…9.1 FEET FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. FOR

CHERRY POINT…9.7 FEET FOR THURSDAY…9.8 FEET FRIDAY AND

SATURDAY.

* EXPECTED TIDAL ANOMALY…TIDAL ANOMALIES ARE EXPECTED TO BE

ONE TO TWO FEET ABOVE EXPECTED HIGH TIDES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES

WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.

PREPARE NOW FOR ANY THREAT OF WATER IN THESE LOW-LYING VULNERABLE

A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH MEANS FLOODING OR BEACH EROSION WILL OCCUR

IF WEATHER CONDITIONS DEVELOP AS PREDICTED. RESIDENTS AND LOCAL

OFFICIALS SHOULD MONITOR THE SITUATION CLOSELY AND BE PREPARED TO

TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION IF A WARNING IS ISSUED.

Dan Willis of Port Townsend, a docent at the Point Wilson Lighthouse at Fort Worden State Park, conducts a tour for interested visitors on Thursday.
