‘Explosive Welding’ to be discussed at lecture series

PORT ANGELES — Michael Drum will present “Explosive Welding” at 12:35 p.m. Thursday.

Drum’s presentation is part of the Studium Generale lecture series in the Little Theater at Peninsula College’s Port Angeles Campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Drum, a Peninsula College alumnus, will discuss some of the work being done at High Energy Metals in Sequim.

Future presentations in the series include:

• A preview of the fifth All-In Film Festival on Oct. 16.

• Carmen Watson-Charles presenting “Creating Common Ground” on Oct. 23.

• A presentation about the Olympic Cougar Project from Mark Elbroch on Oct. 30.

• A discussion with native artist Molly Troxler on Nov. 6.

• The roundtable discussion “Honoring Veterans” on Nov. 13.

• Alice Derry presenting “Native Plants of the Peninsula” on Nov. 20.

• A student-led discussion “What We Have Learned this Quarter” will finish the series on Dec. 4.

Studium also will host a special presentation of “My Heart is Good” with Port Gamble S’Klallam elder and former tribal chair Ron Charles and anthropologist Josh Wisniewski on Nov. 12.
