Class to teach personalizing tarot cards

PORT TOWNSEND — “Creating Personalized Tarot Cards” is the next class with teaching artist Leila Block this Friday evening at Northwind Art School.

“This class is a practice of meditative art making,” said Block, who will guide participants age 15 to adult, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Beginning artists are encouraged. The class is $25.

The class will be in Building 306 at Fort Worden in Port Townsend.

The nonprofit Northwind Art School offers courses and summer camps for various ages and levels of experience.

“Personalized Tarot Cards” is “an opportunity to practice trusting yourself, and to take a moment of connection with your own rich inner world,” Block said.

“Engaging tarot is a ceremony,” she added, “and before we make our own cards, we will take a moment to remember where we want to be headed, and how we want it to feel when we get there. Then the art making is just following inner directives — easy and so lovely to do in a small group.”
