Wave Broadband customers hit with outage; service restored

PORT ANGELES — After a three-hour outage Saturday afternoon, Wave Broadband restored Internet and phone services to customers.

The cause of the outage was unknown Saturday, as Wave officials could not be reached for comment.

Customers in portions of California, Oregon and Washington were unable to connect to the Internet from about noon to 3 p.m., according to www.downdetector.com.

Customers living on the Olympic Peninsula and in Seattle; Portland, Ore.; Sacramento, Calif.; and San Francisco were all affected by the outage.

Several Wave customers reported the outage on social media, including residents of Port Angeles and Sequim.

“Phone is now up and working . . . yeah!!” Su Ferronato, owner of the Dungeness Barn House Bed & Breakfast in Sequim, posted at about 3:30 p.m.

“Good news for Sequim.”
