PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man has been sentenced to one year and a day in prison for his role in a March trailer burglary in which police said a computer, cellphone, cash and the shoes off a man’s feet were stolen.
Zachary Michael Taylor, 20, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count each of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and fourth-degree assault, according to Clallam County Superior Court records.
Taylor was sentenced that day to 12 months and one day in prison and must also pay restitution to be decided at a Sept. 19 hearing.
Taylor was one of three men who Port Angeles police said forced their way into the trailer of Daniel Joseph Jenkins, 21, at the Welcome Inn Trailer and RV Park, 1215 W. U.S. Highway 101, at about 12:07 a.m. March 18.
The trio reportedly attacked Jenkins and made off with his computer, cellphone, cash and shoes, among other items, police said.
Taylor was listed on the roster of the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton on Sunday.
The other two men, Joshua Allen Cabe, 26, of Forks and Ordez Eugene Kompkoff, 19, of Port Angeles, pleaded guilty earlier this year in connection with the burglary.
Cabe pleaded guilty June 10 to one count of first-degree theft and was sentenced July 2 to 90 days in jail with 90 days’ credit for time served.
Kompkoff pleaded guilty to one count each of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft was sentenced June 26 to four months in jail with credit for 94 days served and the remaining 26 days converted to 208 hours of community service.
Jenkins was sentenced May 13 to 30 days in jail, converted to 240 hours of community service, after he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault for hitting Taylor with a metal pipe the evening of March 18.
Police arrested Taylor on March 19 after he was discharged from Olympic Medical Center after treatment for a head wound.
Police arrested Cabe on March 20 and took Kompkoff into custody after he turned himself in March 21.
