Tech guidance appointments now available at Port Angeles Library

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Library is offering 30-minute appointments with expert library staff for hands-on, one-on-one technology tutoring.

These free “Tech-Know-Logy” sessions will take place at the library at 2210 S. Peabody St. by appointment only between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesdays throughout this month, February and March.

Dates for winter Tech-Know-logy appointments are as follows: Jan. 14 and 28, Feb. 11 and 25, and March 11 and 25.

E-reader help

Alternate appointment times are available upon request.

Staff members can show how to keep an e-reader, smartphone or tablet device full of free library books that can be downloaded from home or from airports, hotels, rest stops or while on vacation.

For appointments, participants should bring their device to be guided through the process of downloading e-books and e-audiobooks from services such as Washington Anytime Library, 3M Cloud Library and OneClickDigital.

NOLS experts will help participants navigate their Kindle, Nook, Android tablet or smartphone, Apple device, laptop or MP3 player.

Technology tutors also can help find which e-reader or similar gadget best suits one’s needs.

For more information about this program or to book a Tech-Know-Logy session, email ehelp@nols.org, call 360-417-8500 or visit www.nols.org.
