PORT ANGELES — Retiring Detective Tom Reyes of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office was recognized by the Board of County Commissioners for his service as a deputy sheriff.
Sheriff Bill Benedict presented Reyes with the Sheriff’s Star.
“Detective Tom Reyes’ 30 years of service as a deputy sheriff with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has been marked by a deep and abiding dedication to public safety, ethical service with humility and compassion, and excellence in day-to-day performance,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a written statement.
“He successfully investigated countless cases, including major homicides, major assaults, complex rape cases and intricate fraud and embezzlement investigation.
“During his career, Detective Reyes received 11 Commendation Awards, two Merit Awards, one Meritorious Service Award, two Meritorious Unit Citations and a letter of commendation from the sheriff.”
