FORKS — Congregational Church, 280 S. Spartan Ave., will host the men’s monthly fellowship breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday.
This nondenominational event is for all Christian men.
Pastor Warren Johnson will cook the breakfast for a donation.
The topic for conversation is “Epiphany in the Season of Celebration.”

PORT TOWNSEND — First Baptist Church, 1202 Lawrence St., will have a Christmas celebration service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
A relaxed, everybody’s-welcome mix of singing, readings, special music, and favorite carols will focus on the theme of “Love All.”
A special offering will be taken for the building of fresh water wells through Living Water International.
Christmas treats and visiting will follow the service.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, the church will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Pastor Tom Lafrenz of Church of the Nazarene, Andy Pursley of Assembly of God and Pastor Warren Johnson of Congregational Church will co-officiate.
Lighting candles in remembrance will be part of the service, with special music by Ryan Watson and Juanita Weissenfels
This is a nondenominational/ecumenical event.

Candlelight service
PORT TOWNSEND — New Life Church, 1636 Hastings Ave., will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
The service will be the final installment of the sermon series “Our Coming Savior.”

Unity Christmas
PORT ANGELES — The speaker at Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St., will be Judith Coates for the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday,
Coates’ lesson will be “Jeshua: Merry Christmas.”
Coates will “allow Jeshua/Jesus to speak through her to talk about his birth, his message for these times and his love for us,” according to a news release.
Coates has been involved with Unity since 1974 and was married to Tom Coates, a Unity minister, for 30 years.
They co-ministered during his lifetime at Oakbridge University.
Coates is an ordained metaphysical minister and has been sharing Jeshua’s messages since 1993.
A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. for those who wish to participate.
Child care is available.
Fellowship time follows the service.
Women’s night
PORT ANGELES — The women of the North Olympic Peninsula are invited to attend an evening of worship at the IBC Worship Center, 116 E. Ahlvers Road, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
“My Offering: A Women’s Christmas Night of Worship” is open to all women interested.

Blue Christmas
PORT ANGELES — For the seventh year, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 510 E. Park Ave., will hold a Blue Christmas/Longest Night service at 7 p.m. Monday.
This is nondenominational service “acknowledges that the holidays are not a season of joy for everyone,” according to a news release.
“On this longest night, as the light begins to return, attendees will be invited to offer up any pain, loneliness or sorrow to be carried to the Christ Child.”

‘A Christmas Carol’
SEQUIM — Cornerstone Baptist Temple, 44 Joslin Road, will present the live play “A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Sunday, Dec. 27.

Sunday of Advent
SEQUIM — The fourth Sunday of Advent at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., for the 10 a.m. service will feature a classical prelude with Carolyn Braun on violin and Ray Braun on guitar, and Susan Kaiser will accompany violin operatic tenor Carl Kaiser.
During Communion, Braun and Jean Pratschner will be featured with a violin performance.

Chancel Choir
SEQUIM — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., will begin Christmas Eve with the Chancel Choir performing Vivaldi’s “Gloria” at 6:30 p.m.
The candlelight service is set for 7 p.m. with hymns and carols of the season.
The Christmas morning service will be held at 10 a.m. with traditional Christmas carols.

Candlelight service
SEQUIM — A candlelight service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Music, including traditional carols, will feature the Trinity Singers, bell choir and Carlos Xavier on the flute.
For children, there will be a story, a “treat bag” and a glow stick.
The service concludes with the lighting of individual candles and the singing of “Silent Night.”

20th candlelighting
SEQUIM — The Sequim Center for Spiritual Living at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St., will have its 20th annual Christmas Candlelighting Service at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The congregation sings Christmas carols with the piano accompaniment of Al Harris.
Vocals and carols sung by the congregation are led by vocalist Mary Ellen Bartholomew.
The seven candles representing the seven attributes of God — life, love, light, peace, power, beauty and joy — will be lit by members of the congregation, and the service will conclude with the lighting of individual candles.
The Revs. Lynn Osborne, Michael Laakso and Deborah Nygaard will lead the gathering.

AGNEW — Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 73 Howe Road, will present speaker Robert Nuffer at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday.
Nuffer will share Christmas traditions from around the globe.
Following the service, there will be a Christmas carol sing-along and a holiday gift fair for children.
On Thursday, the fellowship will have a candlelight service at 7 p.m. for adults and children.

PA man earns military promotion
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Devin R. Cyr has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Cyr is serving as C-130 loadmaster with the 731st Airlift Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
He has served in the military for five years.
Cyr is the son of Leslie A. LaFountaine of Tacoma and Michael L. Cyr of Port Angeles.
He is a 2009 graduate of John R. Rogers High School in Tacoma.
Teddy Bear hike set for Jan. 1
PORT TOWNSEND — The 13th annual Teddy Bear Hike will start in the Fort Townsend State Park parking lot off Old Fort Townsend Road at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1.
This free and short walk, sponsored by the Olympic Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society, will be led by Fred Weinmann.
The public is invited.
