PORT ANGELES — A man accused of stabbing another man at a Port Angeles bar turned himself into police Tuesday after officers searched for him for four days.
David J. Harris, 30, was charged with first-degree assault in Clallam County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon — before he walked into the Port Angeles Police Department and surrendered.
Police say Harris — who has lived in both Port Angeles and Sequim — stabbed Ernesto Sanches-Andalob of Port Angeles at 1:41 a.m. Saturday outside R Bar, 132 E. Front St.
Sanches-Andalob was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was listed in satisfactory condition on Sunday, his condition having been upgraded from serious on Saturday night.
His condition on Tuesday could not be ascertained from the hospital, despite phone calls requesting the information.
Port Angeles Detective Sgt. Jason Viada has declined to say what prompted the stabbing or discuss the number or location of the wounds.
The paperwork outlining information concerning the charge against Harris was not yet available in the Clallam County Superior Court computer system late Tuesday.
Police are also investigating whether Harris is the man who knocked on a woman’s door on the 200 block of West Seventh Street.
The woman told police that a man she did not know told her he had just stabbed someone, but he had left by the time officers arrived.
Harris called himself “Gangsta Dave” on his MySpace.com profile, which either was made private or deleted Sunday.
