Final tallies of the Aug. 4 primary election in Clallam and Jefferson counties changed no outcome of any contest or issue.
In Clallam County, 15,302 of 43,522 registered voters cast ballots, a 33.61 percent turnout, according to figures certified Tuesday by the county auditor.
In Jefferson County, 2,798 votes were cast among of 7,544 registered voters, a turnout of 37.09 percent, according to Tuesday’s final count.
In Clallam, the issue that attracted most votes was the 6,209-to-4,448 rejection of a metropolitan park district for the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center.
The top vote-getter in Clallam County was Heather Short with 4,621 votes for Sequim School District Position 5 (plus 56 votes in Jefferson County precincts in the district), followed by Jim McEntire’s 4,267 votes for Clallam County commissioner, District 1.
In Jefferson County, Amy Smith led all candidates with 1,536 for Port Townsend City Council Position 6.
