The Port Angeles City Council will discuss a plastic bag policy at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth.
At least 13 cities, including Port Townsend, have adopted restrictions on plastic bags, the Municipal Research and Services Center said.
Other agenda items for the meeting include:
• The presentation of a $10,000 check from First Federal for the Eighth Street bridges protective screening project.
• A presentation on recycled carbon fiber benches.
• A contribution for the Port Angeles Harbor Cleanup.
• Acceptance of a Transportation Improvement Board grant for 10th Street projects.
• Police vehicle replacement.
• Updates on the Eighth Street bridge project.
Clallam County
Clallam County commissioners will discuss proposed changes to public records policy at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other discussion items include:
• An update on a continuity of operations plan.
• Purchase order with Motorola Solutions for the purchase of upgraded patrol vehicle radios.
• A contract amendment with the state Military Department for a grant to allow Sequim police to spend their portion of funding on mobile data computers and components.
• An agreement with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs for continued operation of a 24/7 sobriety program.
• A land purchase agreement for repairs to the Ward Bridge support piers.
Commissioners will hold their business meeting immediately after the work session Monday.
Action items include:
• A request for proposals from vendors qualified to prepare a general sewer/wastewater facilities plan for the Clallam Bay/Sekiu sewer systems.
• A request for proposals for a new election ballot tabulation system for the Auditor’s Office.
• Notice of a Feb. 20 hearing for the proposed surplus of forfeited vehicles.
Olympic Medical Center
The swearing in of new commissioner Thomas Hightower is planned at the Olympic Medical Center meeting at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will consider agreements with Peninsula Behavioral Health and North Olympic Healthcare Network as well as revised Olympic Medical Physicians Council operating rules and an OMP advanced practice clinician employment.
They will hear an update on the OMC Foundation.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider several policies when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will conduct a workshop at 5 p.m..
Both meetings will be at the district office at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The Open Public Meeting Act will be reviewed at the workshop.
Policies concerning drug-free schools and use of tobacco and nicotine products will be introduced on a first reading.
Policies on job sharing and hiring a retired school employee will be presented for possible approval.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will discuss a proposed amendment to landscape standards when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Planning Commission meetings were previously held at 6:30 p.m. The commission amended its bylaws last month to hold meetings at 6 p.m.
Growth management
The Clallam County-Sequim-Port Angeles-Forks Growth Management Steering Committee will review and update county-wide planning policies at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will hear a legislative update when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., in Sequim.
They will consider standard operating procedures for equal opportunity employment, eliminating workplace harassment, and workplace bullying.
The also will will consider replacement of the phone system.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Public Utility District
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will not meet Monday.
