BRINNON — Dosewallips Road is likely to remain reduced to one-lane traffic for another month while it awaits final resurfacing.
“We’ve completed the major portion of the slide repair, so it’s been stabilized, protected,” Monte Reinders, Jefferson County public works director.
“We still have to finish off with the finish work as time allows.”
He predicted that would take “maybe a month,” depending on manpower availability.
“They’re working on a lot of other sites,” he said.
The Dosewallips River breached its banks, flooding several homes during storms the second week of December.
“We’re still involved in a lot of cleanup, cleaning debris off roads, out of ditches and culverts down in the Duckabush and Dosewallips areas,” plus repaving sections of road torn up by the storms, Reinders said.
The Lake Quinault South Shore Road remains closed, with repairs scheduled to begin this week, Reinders said.
Meanwhile, “we’re still cutting trees and limbs off road shoulders.”
