Concerts, conservation offered Monday on Peninsula

Concerts and conservation tips are among Monday’s activities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

PORT ANGELES

Garden club

PORT ANGELES — Andy Navage will present “The Beauty of Hands-On Conservation” at 10 a.m. Monday.

Navage will address a meeting of the Port Angeles Garden Club at First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles, 139 W. Eighth St.

Navage is the director of horticulture at the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island.

The public is invited to the free meeting that begins with a coffee social at 9:30 a.m.

Monday Musicale

PORT ANGELES — Monday Musicale will meet at noon Monday followed by a concert by Marlene Moore and Kristin Quigley Byre at 1 p.m.

Moore will play cello and Byre the piano as they perform a variety of selections.

The meeting will be in Queen of Angels Catholic Church’s Fellowship Hall, 209 W. 11th St.

The public is welcome to attend the free performance.

PIT meeting

PORT ANGELES — An organizational meeting is planned from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday for people interested in volunteering to assist with the 2020 Point in Time homeless count.

Serenity House will host its first training/information session at the Serenity House administration building at 2203 W. 18th St., Port Angeles.

Brian Fullerton of the state Department of Commerce is expected to lead the training, said Lacey Fry, executive assistant and lead organizer of PIT for Serenity House.

The national PIT count is scheduled for Jan. 23.

Serenity House will host additional training sessions in January.

PORT TOWNSEND

Benefit concert

PORT TOWNSEND — Christa Brook will perform a benefit concert for the Key City Public Theatre at 7 p.m. Monday.

She will be joined by guitarist Tim Holbrook and pianist Bob Richardson at the Key City Playhouse, 419 Washington St.

They will perform some Christmas music and some of their personal favorites.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling 360-385-5278, visiting www.keycitypublic theatre.org or at the door.
