Clallam County election outcomes remain the same after second ballot count

PORT ANGELES — Election outcomes remained the same as on Tuesday after the Clallam County Auditor’s Office tabulated 2,447 late-arriving ballots today.

The next count will be when the election is certified Feb. 24.

The ballots tabulated today include 1,352 that arrived Wednesday, 1,069 from Thursday and 26 more that arrived today.

All told, the Auditor’s Office has received 23,577 ballots out of 45,005 mailed to registered voters for a total turnout of 52.4 percent.

Voters in the Port Angeles School District approved a two-year maintenance and operations levy with 63.7 percent voting yes as of today, up from 62.4 percent who favored the proposition in the first ballot count Tuesday.

Today’s tally was 6,129 ballots approving the measure to 3,488 opposing it.
