Car lands in bay near Port Ludlow

PORT LUDLOW — A car landed in the shallow waters of the bay at Port Ludlow after the driver swerved across Paradise Bay Road, hit a barricade and rolled down an embankment, according to Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue.

The driver, the only person in the PT Cruiser, climbed out of the car and suffered only minor injuries in the 10 a.m. Tuesday wreck, according to fire department officials, citing privacy concerns.

Firefighters responding to the report of a wreck found the 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser in the water.

The wreck is under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, which also responded to the scene near the intersection of Paradise Bay Road and Spinnaker Road in Port Ludlow.

The PT Cruiser was heading south down Paradise Bay Road when it swerved into a barricade on the right side of the road, firefighters said in a news release.

After colliding with the barricade, the car swerved across the road and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest in the shallow water of the bay.

No other vehicles were involved, firefighters said.
