Burglary suspect evades deputies after chase in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies pursued a burglary suspect this morning, but were unable to apprehend him after a brief foot chase in the Four Seasons Ranch area.

PenCom 9-1-1 received a call at about 9 a.m. from a former girlfriend of Andrew Donald Luquette, 31, a transient from the Sequim area, reporting that Luquette was at her home on Blue Jay Place, said Ron Cameron, chief criminal deputy for the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

“Everyone and his dog has been looking for him, literally,” Cameron said.

Deputies converged on the area, and after a foot chase and with at least one canine unit, he disappeared into the Four Seasons Ranch area north of U.S. Highway 101.

Cameron said he may have crossed Morse Creek, or may be in one of the many houses in the area.

The chase was called off at about 10:45 a.m., he said.

Andrew Luquette is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall with brown hair and eyes and weighs 207 pounds.

Luquette is one of four men suspected in a March 5 home burglary along Woodcock Road near Sequim.

Drew Tyler Balch, 21, was apprehended after a chase that covered 19.8 miles and ended last Wednesday morning on Old Gardiner Road, and Ryan Joseph Luquette, 34, brother of Andrew Luquette, was taken into custody Friday.

Deputies are also still seeking Ronnie Lee Bayley, 37, also described as a transient from the Sequim area.

Bayley is 5 feet, 5 inches tall with brown hair and eyes and weighs 150 pounds.
