PORT TOWNSEND — A free workshop on the art of auditioning is set from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Key City Playhouse, 419 Washington St., with all ages and experience levels welcome.
Key City Public Theatre education director Amy Sousa and guest artist Duncan Frost will teach participants how to prepare an audition monologue, how to approach cold readings and how to read well with a partner.
Actors should bring a two-minute monologue to use in the workshop.
They also will have a chance to receive feedback before Key City Public Theatre’s general auditions for the 2015 season, which are planned Nov. 3-4.
Perusal scripts of next season’s plays are available at Key City’s offices at 1128 Lawrence St., open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and at the Key City Playhouse box office, open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
To reserve a place at Saturday’s free auditioning workshop, email rsvp@keycitypublictheatre.org or phone 360-385-KCPT (5278).
