Springtime activities hit full strength this weekend with jazz and swing, a film festival and a theatrical race around the globe.
Here’s a sampling of the art and entertainment on the North Olympic Peninsula.
• “Around the World in Less Than 80 Days” is the show racing across the stage at Key City Public Theatre, 419 Washington St., Port Townsend.
This comic adventure, featuring journalists Nellie Bly and Elizabeth Bisland (Maggie Jo Bulkley) along with publisher Joseph Pulitzer and author Jules Verne (David Natale), unfolds in matinee and evening performances through May 8.

• Live music at Finnriver Farm & Cidery, 124 Center Road in Chimacum, starts tonight with singer-guitarist-traveler Jess Clemons from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Then comes Brother Townsend’s brand of soulful Americana from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and True Reckoning’s folk music from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

• Women & Film, the springtime offering from the Port Townsend Film Festival, begins today, bringing 12 full-length movies by and about women plus two shorts programs.
Nearly all come with interviews with the filmmakers included in the ticket price.

• Lahna Deering and friends will appear at Discovery Bay Brewing, 948 N. Park Ave., Port Townsend, on Saturday.
Deering, along with drummer Mark Sabella, guitarist Gary Romjue and bassist Jay O’Neil will play from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Multi-instrumentalist Matt Sircely will fill up The Keg & I in Chimacum this Saturday with his blend of traditional and new music on mandolin, guitar and four-string tenor guitar.
His set will go from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the taproom at 1291 Chimacum Road.
• The Jazz in the Olympics festival brings the retro swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to Club Seven at 7 Cedars Casino, east of Sequim at 270756 U.S. Highway 101, on Saturday evening.
Also starring the Navy Band Northwest jazz ensemble, show time is 6:30 p.m. while ticket information awaits at olympicjazz.com.
• Concerti from the Court of Frederick the Great will arrive at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1020 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, on Sunday.
Harpsichordist David Schrader and an ensemble of baroque musicians will offer a program of orchestral works by King Frederick the Great and other composers at 2 p.m., with admission by donation.

• The Concerts in the Woods have returned to the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road in Coyle. Next up at 3 p.m. Sunday: the Ben Rosenblum Trio, with music inspired by many places around the world.
Admission is free with donations welcome, and as always there will be treats at intermission.

• The Buttercup Lane band will play blues, classic rock, R & B, swing and beyond for a dance at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, Sequim, this Sunday.
The music will flow from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a cover charge.
