PORT ANGELES — Police arrested a man and a woman for investigation of burglary after they allegedly were caught in the act by police at an East Whidby Avenue apartment Wednesday morning.
Daniel Joseph Jenkins, 22, and Allyson Lea Anders, 18, both of Port Angeles, were booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of residential burglary, said Brian Smith, deputy chief of the Port Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 report of multiple trespassers in the 800 block of East Whidby Avenue just before 9 a.m., Smith said.
When they arrived, Jenkins fled out the door of an apartment and was captured by officers, Smith said.

Port Angeles police and agents from the U.S. Border Patrol cordoned off the area while police sought a warrant to search the apartment.
“There were no residents available to give us permission to go in,” Smith said.
Once they received the warrant, police entered the apartment and found Anders inside, Smith said.
He said Jenkins also was wanted on a state Department of Corrections warrant.
According to court documents, Jenkins was sentenced last November for failure to register as a sex offender and one year of supervised community custody.
