Port Angeles School District celebrates 2018-2019 AmeriCorps tutor/mentor graduates

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District celebrated the graduation of its 2018-2019 AmeriCorps tutor/mentors.

According to a press release, the team members spent more than 18,000 hours tutoring and mentoring at risk and struggling students during the school year and the summer school program.

Each graduate received a monthly living allowance as well as a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.

The team members were Claudia Carvell, Amber Eck, Jesse Fox, Dylan Godsey, Amy Heath, Tim Hernandez, Bella Monger, Gabby Roderick and Clare Wegener.

Jesse Fox, will be returning in 2019-2020 for a second term of service with the district.

The district is currently recruiting additional members for its 2019-2020 AmeriCorps team.
