Pop-opera singers to open Port Ludlow concert season this coming Saturday

Peninsula Daily News

PORT LUDLOW — A new lineup of concerts begins this month as Vivace, a pop-opera foursome from Vancouver, B.C., arrives for a fancy evening at the Bay Club on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The Port Ludlow Arts Council is hosting Vivace (pronounced vi-VA-chay), which first got together to perform at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver four years ago.

Classically trained musicians Melody Courage, Tiffany Desrosiers, Marc Devigne and DJ Calhoun will offer popular songs alongside arias in this season-opening event, which also promises champagne for concert-goers.

Tickets are $24 to the show at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. so patrons can enjoy a display of Port Ludlow Artists League member Rita Hollingsworth’s oil paintings.

Then Vivace will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., with pianist Trevor Hoffmann and Seattle-born violinist Elyse Jacobson accompanying the singers.

Port Ludlow Arts Council concerts have been known to sell out, so music lovers are urged to visit www.portludlowperformingarts.com for reservations.

The website also has details on the forthcoming season of concerts, the $120 subscription and the $132 flex pass for six concerts.

For information and directions to the Bay Club, phone the venue at 360-437-2208.
