PORT ANGELES — Oregon Shakespeare Festival actors Keith Leroyal and Eduardo Placer of Ashland, Ore., will present two public performances and a workshop at Peninsula College today.
The public performances are scheduled for 9:10 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. in the college’s Little Theater on the Port Angeles campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., and are free to the public.
Morning program
In celebration of Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, the 9:10 a.m. program will feature selections from some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays, including but not limited to:
■ “King Lear,” Act 2, Scene 2: Oswald, Kent.
■ “The Taming of the Shrew,” Act 1, Scene 2: Grumio, Petruchio.
■ “Romeo and Juliet,” Act 1, Scene 1: Romeo, Benvolio.
■ “The Two Noble Kinsmen,” Act 2, Scene 1: Palamon, Arcite.
■ “The Winter’s Tale,” Act 1, Scene 2: Leontes, Camillo.
■ “Much Ado About Nothing,” Act 1, Scene 1: Benedick.
■ “Macbeth,” Act 5, Scene 8: Macbeth, Macduff.
■ Sonnet 29.
The hourlong program is co-hosted by the English composition classes of Peninsula College professors Michael Mills and Janet Lucas and will be followed by a special workshop hosted by Peninsula College’s honors literature students, taught by professor Helen Lovejoy, at 10:20 a.m.

Studium Generale
The afternoon Studium Generale program, which starts at 12:35 p.m., features a special presentation of “American Night High! The Ballad of an Immigrant Student Dreaming in the USA” by Richard Montoya.
A question-and-answer session will immediately follow the presentation of the play.
The play is the story of a young Mexican immigrant who dreams about becoming a U.S. citizen the night before his citizenship exam.
As the young man’s dream progresses, we meet several famous U.S. historical figures, including Meriwether Lewis, Teddy Roosevelt, Betsy Ross, Sacagawea, Jackie Robinson and Woody Guthrie.
