NEWS BRIEFS: Tickets for PA harvest dinner on sale … and other items

PORT ANGELES — The Esther Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star will host a harvest dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 28.

The annual dinner at the Masonic Lodge, 622 S. Lincoln St., will raise money for the scholarship and building maintenance funds.

The menu includes turkey, stuffing, mashed

potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, cranberry jello salad, rolls, home-made pies and beverages.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens 60 or older and $10 for children from 6 to 12 years old. Children 5 and younger eat for free.

Tickets will be available at the door, at the concession stand during bingo or by calling Judy Scott at 360-457-6783.

Showcase in PT

PORT TOWNSEND — Songwriters Marv and Rindy Ross will perform at 7 p.m. Friday.

The concert will be at the Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water St.

Advance tickets are $12 at rossesnorthwind.brownpapertickets.com or $15 at the door.

Rindy and Marv Ross are known for founding Seafood Mama, Quarterflash and The Trail Band.

The Rosses wrote five top-40 songs with Quarterflash, according to a press release.

Menopause talk

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare will begin a five-week discussion group from noon to 1 p.m. Friday.

The group will meet Fridays at noon in the Women’s Health Clinic, Jefferson Healthcare, 834 Sheridan St.

The discussions on menopause will be moderated by Jane Albee a women’s health nurse practitioner.

Station moving

SEQUIM — The KSQM public radio station is moving from its old studio at 577 W. Washington St. to new studios in unit 17 of Sequim Village Shopping Center, 609 W. Washington St.

The move is needed to release space for Serenity House.

KSQM hopes to have the move completed by Nov. 3 so it can broadcast their lead-up to Veterans Day from the new studio, according to a press release.

KSQM 91.5 FM is a listener supported nonprofit radio station serving Sequim and surrounding communities.

Memorial service

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Helathcare will host the annual Community Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25.

The non-denominational service will be held at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 2333 San Juan Ave.

The service is open to anyone in the community grieving a death.

The service will include music, a candle lighting, poetry and responsive readings.

The service will be followed by light refreshments and a time for sharing.

A memorial quilt made by Cabin Fever Quilters will be displayed and attendees are invited to bring a photo or memento to place on the quilt.
