NEWS BRIEFS: Sequim book discussion planned for June 11 . . . and other items

SEQUIM — Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey will be discussed at the Sequim Branch Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

“A bitter strike is raging in a small lumber town along the Oregon coast. Bucking that strike out of sheer cussedness are the Stampers. Out of the Stamper family’s rivalries and betrayals Ken Kesey has crafted a novel with the mythic impact of Greek tragedy,” according to the book’s description.

The event is free and open to the public.

The program is supported by the Friends of Sequim Library.

For more information, visit www.nols.org and select “Events” and “Sequim,” or contact the Sequim Branch Library at 360-683-1161.
