NEWS BRIEFS: Port Angeles School Board to meet Thursday … and other items

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District Board of Directors will hold its regular meeting Thursday.

The meeting will be held at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St., with an executive session at 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m.

Agenda items include approval of the second reading of a comprehensive early learning plan, an enrollment report and a January financial report.

Educational forum

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Citizen Action Network (PA CAN) will hold a community forum Thursday at 6 p.m.

Held in the conference room at The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., the forum will discuss opioids and HIV.

The forum will be presented by Dr. Christopher Frank, from the Clallam County Health Department and North Olympic Healthcare Network.

“With the increase of opioids and needle use, the rate of HIV and other infectious diseases are once again going up,” said Angie Gooding, executive director of PA CAN, in a news release.

“This is alarming, and as a community, we need to be aware of the facts.”

Sequim office gains new Realtor

SEQUIM — Tiffani Mote has joined RE/MAX Prime’s Sequim office.

Mote has more than five years’ experience in property management in the Sequim and Port Angeles areas, according to a news release.

Additionally, she has served as a volunteer for Sequim Wolf Pack youth football and the cheer program as the cheer coordinator, coach and program treasurer for more than four years.
