FORKS — Two Everett hikers who had been missing in Olympic National Park’s upper Bogachiel River area were picked up by helicopter Monday after being found safe Sunday afternoon.
The two were in good condition, and their families met them in Forks when the helicopter landed at about noon.
Jon Pontrello, 18, and Jonathan Parks, 20, were spotted by air at 3:30 p.m. Sunday outside a shelter about 17 miles from the trailhead and five miles south of Forks.
