Port Angeles city

Port Angeles City Council members will consider approving a 2015 contract with the Clallam County Economic Development Council at the council’s regular meeting Tuesday.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.

City staff did not make a recommendation on the $15,000 contract for the EDC.

That was because council funding has been the subject of recent council discussion, and the council recently gave a preliminary lowest-priority rating to funding outside organizations such as the EDC, said Nathan West, city community and economic development director.

At Tuesday’s meeting, council members also will consider adopting a priority-setting resolution that incorporates highest, mid-level and lowest priorities for funding for the rest of 2015 and the 2016 spending plan.

Council members also will conduct the first reading of six-year capital facilities and transportation improvement plans beginning in 2016.

Other agenda items include a bid award for pole inspection, treating and reporting for 2015, a bid award for a transmission line rebuild from Sutter Road to Old Olympic Highway and a general manager’s report on district activities and customary business.

Charter review

The Clallam County Charter Review Commission will hold a public hearing in Forks on Monday.

The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.

Members of the commission are seeking citizen input on potential amendments to the Clallam County charter that voters are scheduled to consider in the Nov. 3 election.
