BUSINESS BRIEFS: Clallam Fire District 3 chief to give talk at Sequim guild’s monthly meeting Jan. 26 . . . and other items

SEQUIM — Clallam County Fire District No. 3’s new fire chief, Ben Andrews, will speak at the Sequim-Dungeness Hospital Guild’s monthly Speaker Series and business meeting Tuesday, Jan. 26.

The meeting starts at 10 a.m. in the community hall of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave.

The public is invited to the speaker portion of the meeting, and speakers are first on the program, followed by a short recess and then the business meeting of the guild.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

KONP talk guests

PORT ANGELES — Here is this week’s schedule for the 1:05 p.m. to 2 p.m. local talk show segment on KONP radio, at 1450 AM, 101.7 FM and www.konp.com on the Internet outside the Port Angeles area.

Station General Manager Todd Ortloff hosts the Monday through Thursday segments.

This week’s scheduled lineup:

■ Monday: Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Nichols provides an update on the intergovernmental consolidation of the municipal court function, advancements in the office’s handling of the coroner function, efforts to better address property and drug crimes, and public outreach.

■ Tuesday: Linda Cameron of Jim’s Pharmacy and Amber Hoskens of First Step Family Support Center discuss Jim’s Pharmacy’s Diaper and Book Drive for First Step during the month of January.

Second segment: Michelle Gentry of AmeriCorps.

Third segment: Scott Brandon discusses the vocational program.

■ Wednesday: Dr. Clayton Mork, Crescent School District superintendent, and Steve Singhose discuss the Crescent School levy.

Second segment: Soroptimists Danetta Rutten and Jean Hordyk discuss human trafficking and forced labor.

■ Thursday: Clallam County commissioners.
