Two Jefferson County marinas are participating in the Passport to Puget Sound promotion that awards prizes to visiting boaters.
The Resort At Port Ludlow Marina and Pleasant Harbor Marina in Brinnon are among 20 in the yearlong program sponsored by the marinas, the Northwest Marine Trade Association and Westmar Marine Insurance Services.
Now in its second year, the program was kicked off at the Seattle Boat Show in January.
“The promotion is intended to encourage boaters to enjoy all that the Puget Sound provides, including fishing, diverse moorage options and events year-round,” said spokeswoman Katie Shaffer in a statement.
Participants who visit any of the participating marinas between now and Dec. 31 and pay for a minimum of one night of guest moorage will receive a stamp in a Passport to Puget Sound book.
Once a row of five marinas is completed — vertical, horizontal or diagonal — visitors will receive a Passport to Puget Sound T-shirt.
The first 20 participants to achieve a “blackout,” in which all squares are filled with stamps from all participating marinas, will receive one of 20 grand-prize packages valued at up to $500.
Prize packages include a variety of hotel accommodations, restaurant gift certificates, event tickets and boat services.
The other 18 participating marinas are Alderbrook Resort Marina, Arabella’s Landing, Bell Harbor Marina, Bremerton Marina, Cap Sante Boat Haven, City of Des Moines Marina, City of Oak Harbor Marina, Dock Street Marina, Elliott Bay Marina, Foss Harbor Marina, La Conner Marina, Port of Edmonds, Port of Everett, Port of Kingston, Port of Poulsbo, Port Orchard Marina, Shilshole Bay Marina and Swantown Marina.
Passport to Puget Sound books are available at any of the marinas.
